As this is a speculative application at this stage, we are looking for people UK wide to join us as a Trainee Geospatial Surveyor and this is specifically for those leaving the armed forces.

Role Responsibility
This is an opportunity to learn a new skill set for a long-term career. You will be supported by a senior mentor and a full technical team; you’ll learn on the job and via specialist training modules. At the end of your training, you will have the opportunity to obtain professional qualifications and authorisation to work as a qualified Surveyor.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working in changing environments - both indoors and outdoors. You’ll be visiting varying sites and conditions, working with a great team.
The tasks of a Trainee Surveyor consist of:
Utilities:
- Assisting a senior surveyor in carrying out utility mapping / PAS128 surveys across a variety of industries and locations
- Training in all utility survey techniques (EML/GPR etc.)
- Training in GPS and Total Stations
- Working towards Level 3 Qualification in utility mapping and surveying
- Gaining experience working on various sites from rural locations to construction sites.
- Clearance surveys for intrusive excavation works
CCTV:
- Supporting a Senior Surveyor on site
- Lifting manholes for drainage inspection
- Offer advice on repair recommendations
- Learning how to use CAD on office days
- Supporting with repairs, lining and patching
Land & Buildings:
- Assist surveyors in the production of Land Measurement & Measured Building Surveys.
- Ability to drive to and from sites all over the country.
- Undertake tasks within the office environment to assist with project completion e.g., processing surveying data, instrument checks, organising and loading equipment, data input.
- Undertake on-the-job training and earn whilst you learn.
- Set up surveying instruments, record data and providing logistical support to Surveyors.
The Ideal Candidate
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude towards learning new technical proficiencies
- Practical hands-on skills with good attention to detail
- Using your own initiative if working alone
- Flexible and adaptable approach (including out-of-hours working)
- Well organised and works well under pressure
- Full Manual UK Driving Licence

When you qualify:

Overtime rates paid at time and a half, and time and three quarters

Paid travel contributing to your core 42.5 hour week, allowing you to achieve the enhanced hourly rate, valued between £3,000 – 4,000 on average
