Job Introduction
⚙️ Operations Lead – Infrastructure
(Keeping projects moving. Standards high. Delivery exactly on time.)
Operational delivery doesn’t happen by chance. It works because someone is keeping a clear view of workloads, resources, and standards — making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
At Lucion Infrastructure, we deliver complex, multi-disciplinary services across the highways and utilities sectors. That means coordinating people, projects, and data at pace — without compromising on quality.
We’re now looking for an Operations Lead to join our team in Rotherham. This is a key role responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our services — ensuring work is planned, managed, and completed on time, every time.
🔎 What You’ll Be Doing (And Why It Matters)
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where organisation, communication, and control are essential.
You’ll:
• Manage daily and weekly operational workloads using internal systems
• Plan and coordinate resources, including staff, plant, and equipment
• Liaise with clients to provide updates, answer queries, and offer technical support
• Work closely with the Business Unit Manager to monitor current and future workload demands
• Ensure all work is processed accurately through our NexGen system to support delivery and billing
• Minimise Work In Progress (WIP) by keeping projects moving efficiently
• Collaborate with Technical Assurance teams to maintain quality standards and resolve non-conformances
• Carry out quality checks to ensure all work meets Lucion’s technical procedures
• Maintain accurate records and data within internal systems
• Identify opportunities to improve KPIs while maintaining commercial performance
• Lead and support operational teams to consistently deliver high-quality work
• Step in for the Business Unit Manager when required
In short: keeping operations organised, efficient, and delivering exactly as they should.
🌱 About You (Organised, Proactive, Delivery-Focused)
You understand that strong operations are built on planning, communication, and attention to detail.
You’ll likely:
• Have experience managing workloads and delivering services on time
• Be confident coordinating teams and resources in a fast-paced environment
• Hold relevant industry qualifications (P402 / P403 / P404 / P405 or similar)
• Have practical experience in surveying and/or air monitoring
• Communicate clearly with both clients and internal teams
• Be comfortable working under pressure while staying calm and organised
• Have strong IT skills and experience using operational systems
• Take a proactive approach to solving problems and improving performance
You’re dependable, methodical, and someone others rely on to keep things running smoothly.
🎁 What You’ll Get in Return (Because Good Work Deserves Good Support)
We support our people so they can focus on delivering quality work. Alongside a collaborative, professional environment, you’ll benefit from:
- Basic Salary of between £49,000 - £53,000 depending on experience
- Techscheme – vouchers towards commuting or home tech
- Healthcare Cash Plan – help with everyday healthcare costs
- Enhanced family leave – because life happens
- Option to buy extra holiday – time off actually matters
- Training & development – keep your leadership and technical skills moving forward
- Flexible working, supported by a business that genuinely cares
- Car Allowance
