Job Introduction
Due to continued growth of Lucion Services, we are currently looking for our next intake of Trainee Asbestos Surveyors/Analysts to come and join our team! These are field-based roles so you will be covering the South East area, but your nearest local office is likely to be our Gatwick facility. We are offering a competitive salary starting at £24,796, rising to £26,000 once you’re qualified!
We are currently looking at a start date for our Trainees of Monday 7th October.
Role Responsibility
This is an opportunity to learn a new skill set for a long-term career. You will be supported by a senior mentor and a full technical team; you’ll learn on the job and via specialist training modules. At the end of your training, you will have the opportunity to obtain professional qualifications and authorisation to work as a qualified Asbestos Analyst/Surveyor.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working in changing environments - both indoors and outdoors. You’ll be visiting varying sites and conditions, working with a great team.
The tasks of a Trainee Asbestos Surveyor/Analyst consist of:
- Investigation of building fabric works as part of a survey team
- Willingness to work as part of a team in changing environmental situations. This could include working outside undertaking soil investigation work, to working in a Grade II listed building or surveying a tanker in the Atlantic ocean
- Undergoing in-house training towards professional RSPH Level 3 Award in Air Monitoring and Clearance Procedures and RSPH Level 3 Award in Asbestos Surveying courses
- Learning to log technical data into Lucion's in-house built mobile app, NexGen
- Adherence to accreditation requirements and aspects which underpin our Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental systems.
- Self motivated learning in conjunction with support from your mentor
The Ideal Candidate
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude towards learning new technical proficiencies
- Practical hands-on skills with good attention to detail
- Using your own initiative if working alone
- Flexible and adaptable approach (including out-of-hours working)
- Well organised and works well under pressure
- Full Manual UK Driving Licence

When you qualify as an Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst:
- Overtime rates paid at time and a half, and time and three quarters
- Paid travel contributing to your core 40 hour week, allowing you to achieve the enhanced hourly rate, valued between £3,000 – 4,000 on average
