We are recruiting for a Senior Consultant to join our Ecology division. If you're passionate about ecological work and looking to make a difference, we want you on our team!
This is hybrid role based out of our London office in vibrant Shoreditch.
Role Responsibility
As a Senior Ecologist at Lucion, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering ecological services and ensuring environmental protection. You will be responsible for:
- Conducting Extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys and UK Habs surveys to accurately map habitats and assess their potential for notable or protected species.
- Performing Phase 2 surveys for legally protected species.
- Producing a range of ecological reports and reviewing the work of junior team members.
- Designing and managing ecological surveys and associated mitigation strategies.
- Managing projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client requirements.
- Collaborating with clients, professional advisors, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships across all levels within the business and with external stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject
- At least 3 experience as a professional ecological consultant.
- Good ecological field skills covering a range of protected species and habitats.
- A sound understanding of the legislative and planning policy framework as it relates to ecology and nature conservation.
- The ability to write concise, high quality, technical reports (including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments) in line with CIEEM guidelines.
- Full clean UK driving licence
