Job Introduction
We are looking for an experienced & highly motivated Radiation Protection Advisor to join our successful Radiation Protection team in Aberdeen. We are offering a competitive basic salary depending on skills, location and experience.
Role Responsibility
The post offers excellent opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects. You’ll share new ideas between clients which satisfy the most stringent Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards to support our purpose, protecting people and planet. We also provide support and training to those keen to further develop their careers through additional professional development qualifications, such as RWA and/or DGSA certification.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing clear and concise advice to clients on radiation compliance issues.
- Preparing and reviewing radiation risk assessments and procedures.
- Carrying out audits - onshore and offshore – and ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.
- Teaching radiation protection courses.
- Mentoring trainee RPA’s to help ensure they gain their RPA2000 certification.
The Ideal Candidate
- You will hold a valid RPA certificate issued by RPA2000
- Have experience providing radiation protection advice to at least one of the sectors served by ARPS
- Excellent verbal, written communications, and IT Skills
- The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Able to plan your day and have excellent time management skills
- Radioactive Waste Adviser (RWA) Certificate or working towards it would be an advantage.
- DGSA certification or knowledge of Class 7 transport regulations would also be desirable.
