Job Introduction
Radiation Materials Coordinator / RPS Support – Westhill
(a.k.a. The Person Who Keeps the Radioactive Ducks in a Row)
Location: Westhill (with occasional site/offshore visits)
If you’re the kind of person who likes systems organised, equipment accounted for, and safety handled properly — you might just be exactly who we’re looking for.
Working with ionising radiation isn’t dramatic. It’s disciplined, methodical, and built on people who understand that precision + process = safety. This role sits right at the centre of that equation.
We’re looking for someone who can manage specialist equipment, coordinate materials, support radiation protection activities, and make sure everything — from monitors to samples — is exactly where it should be, when it should be there.
☢️ What You’ll Be Doing (And Why It Matters)
You’ll be the operational backbone supporting Radiation Protection Advisers, supervisors and clients working with controlled radioactive materials.
Day to day, you’ll:
• Manage stock of calibrated radiation monitors and ensure they’re always in working order
• Coordinate calibration schedules and equipment readiness
• Support laboratory teams in an RPS capacity
• Handle receipt and dispatch of NORM samples to designated labs
• Maintain PPE/RPE stocks and radiation-related consumables
• Assist with radioactive waste disposal routes for clients
• Carry out occasional process and compliance audits
• Deliver equipment and materials to client sites
• Support operations onshore and occasionally offshore (including UK Continental Shelf work when required)
In short: you keep the infrastructure behind safe radiation work running smoothly.
🧠 You’ll Probably Thrive Here If…
• You like structure, organisation and clear processes
• You notice when something’s out of place (and fix it)
• You’re calm under deadlines and good at solving practical problems
• You communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues
• You take pride in doing things properly, not just quickly
🎯 What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone dependable, capable and detail-driven:
Essential
• 5+ years’ experience as a storeperson or materials coordinator
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Confidence using Microsoft Office tools
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Full UK manual driving licence
• Professional, reliable and safety-focused mindset
Desirable (Training Available)
• Knowledge of UK import/export customs processes
• Dangerous Goods certification (road/sea)
• Offshore medical and BOSIET certification
🎁 What You’ll Get in Return (Because Good Work Deserves Good Support)

🧪 Why This Role Is Different
