Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

Job Introduction

We are looking for a highly motivated and versatile individual to provide support to our team of project geologists and geo environmental engineers as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer in our team based in Peterborough. 

Role Responsibility

  • Carry out and supervise the company’s fieldwork operations
  • Assist project and senior staff in data and report preparation
  • Organise and coordinate project resources, including suppliers and subcontractors, to enable efficient timescales
  • Demonstrate an understanding of project objectives and rationale
  • Use software and technical guidance documents for the assessment of data to determine the required outcome for the project or assignment
  • Adhere to high Health and Safety standards, in line with Company procedures
  • Commitment to develop personal CPD
  • Develop your working knowledge of relevant geo-environmental legislation, standards and guidance
  • Develop your working knowledge of the design of conceptual models and thought
  • Professional communication with colleagues and all stakeholders
  • Site evaluation for tender and desk study purposes

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, or geoenvironmental related qualification
  • A good understanding of UK geology and geographical awareness
  • Administration skills - ability to input, extract, interpret and record information from computerised information sources
  • Clear written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and customer care
  • Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure
  • Flexible working as determined by the requirements of the company, with travel around the UK, often with extended hours (overtime will be paid)
  • Full UK manual driving licence
